Rapper, Ludacris Proposes and Gets Married in One Day

The traditional regimen of getting engaged and planning a wedding one to two years later, was the total opposite of what Ludacris had in mind.  He and Eudoxie Mbouguiengue, his long time girlfriend of 6 years, showed us that it can be done differently.

The rapper surprised Eudoxie with his proposal, while on a private jet and also gifted her with a white dress that would serve as her wedding gown that same day.  After tying the knot, close friends and family (including singers Monica and LeToya Luckett) met them and jetted off to Cost Rica for a group honeymoon.

What a way to solidify love! Kudos to Ludacris for thinking outside of the box and showing Eudoxie that she is your queen.  CONGRATS and MANY BLESSINGS!

Life’s Intermission…

It’s been some weeks, but I’m still here.  I pray everyone had an amazing holiday and is starting off 2015 in good spirits.  I took the last few weeks to just be still.  I wanted to enjoy my family and friends.  

2014 was unforgiving in many ways, but so many blessings surfaced in the last couple of months.  I needed to reset and regroup and that meant disconnecting myself for some time. 

At some point, we all need to get back to the basics and realign our thoughts, goals and game plan.  A part of my journey and process has been to get back to the Lord.  It may not be everyone’s cup of tea,  but getting closer to perfection and good ideals, morals, lifestyle,  etc. is where my focus has been.

May 2015 be our year for greatness.   Let’s get out there and make things happen.  Oh, and I’m back so get ready for what’s coming on Danithedreamgirl.com.

2 NYPD Cops Executed as Revenge for Eric Garner and Mike Brown Deaths

As if the world wasn’t already violent and crazy enough,  things got much worse as two NYPD cops were killed, execution style, while they were sitting in a marked police cruiser during an anti-terrorism drill in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.

The suspected gunman apparently gave warning of his plot to put “wings on pigs” via an Instagram post, pictured below.  Once police cornered the shooter,  he turned the gun on himself and was eventually pronounced dead.

The shootings were alleged revenge for the deaths of Eric Garner and Mike Brown.

Hopefully,  people can find peace and end the violence.  Killing cops is not the way to fight for a cause.

Jimmy Rollins Bids Farewell to Philadelphia Phillies

After one of the longest athletic tenures in Philadelphia sports, Phillies’ shortstop, Jimmy Rollins, says goodbye to his teammates,  coaches,  fans and the city. He will continue on to play for the LA Dodgers.  Rollins bought a full-page ad in the Philadelphia Enquirer, and explains how he is forever grateful for the opportunity and experience as a Phillies ball player.  Check out the ad, below:

Top Theaters Decide Against Showing Sony Movie, “The Interview”

Everyone was looking forward to the Christmas release of Sony’s new movie, The Interview, featuring Seth Rogen and James Franco.  The movie received criticism for its daring plot that focuses on assassinating North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un. 

There was a recent hack into Sony’s database that allegedly brought attention to email threats they were receiving because of the upcoming controversial release.

Major theaters, such as AMC, Regal, Cinemark and Cineplex have all dropped the movie from their line-up due to the security threats.

D’Angelo Drops New Album After 15 Year Hiatus

For those neo-soul lovers out there, this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.  We’ve patiently waited for the sexy How Does It Feel? singer to grace us with his presence just one more time and it finally happened.  D’Angelo surprised his fans, and the world, with his new project, Black Messiah. 

After 15 years, I’m sure he won’t leave anyone disapponted.  It’s great to just see him back on his feet and doing what we all love to see him do best.

DC’s AJ Cooper Laid To Rest

It’s truly sad when young, positive people live short lives.  DC’s, Algernon  “AJ” Cooper passed away suddenly on December 3rd and was laid to rest yesterday.  AJ was the former co-host of BET’s Teen Summit and often held youth issues in the forefront of his goals.

He recently put his bid in for Ward 4 DC Council and had much of the support from locals.  Cooper passed away from an apparent heart attack last week, after complaining of chest pains.  He was only 34.

Classy [Nude] Kardashian Shoot? Judge For Yourself!

In a recent photo shoot for Du Jour, shot by Brian Bowen Smith, Kourtney Kardashian bared all.  Her sister, Kim, has been receiving some heavy criticism for her nude shoot for Paper Magazine.  It seems as though some may be more accepting of the artful shoot provided by Du Jour, but you should judge for yourself.  I personally think the photos are gorgeous!   Take a look!
