As if being the creator and protagonist of the hit HBO series, Insecure, wasn’t enough, Issa Rae is now the new face of CoverGirl.  Congratulations on a well-deserved accomplishment and for being an amazing example for other black women and girls around the world.

Issa announced her exciting news via Instagram and shared that she remembers, “being an awkward black girl in high school, reading the pages of my favorite magazines, casually flipping through CoverGirl ads, singing their slogan…”  Her success serves as motivation and confirmation that anything is possible.

Issa Rae has certainly made a name for herself by creating a show with diverse actors and accurate images of DIFFERENT types of black people, but CoverGirl is definitely the cherry on top.  The Dreamworld is excited to see what’s next!
