The female rap game has always been one of ups and downs.  Female artists such as MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, and Monie Love paved the way for artists like Lil Kim, Eve, and Da Brat.  While men usually proclaim most of the rap game’s glory, women have proven that over the years, they are just as capable of putting out music that can stand side by side with them.  Two females that are battling for the top spot, Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj, have a chance to prove once again why females deserve to get respect in the game.

Remy Ma, known for her raw, gripping voice and dope lyrics may have had to fight her way back into the circle after her time in prison, but she is definitely coming back for her spot.  Nicki Minaj has had the chance to change the way we look at female rappers all together, since she was essentially solo in the game for years.  Nicki set her sights on female rapper, Lil Kim, and proved why at the time she deserved to be recognized as a top artist.  There was no one there to challenge her. She not only had the lyrics and hot beats, but she also had the Pink Barbie image that added a unique sex appeal.

Now that Remy Ma is back…oh, she’s coming for Nicki Minaj head on.  In a recent interview with the Breakfast Club, Remy delivered a freestyle that many thought was directed at Nicki (even though she denied it).  Well, in true Nicki fashion, she came right back to Remy in her verse on Gucci Mane’s new single, Make Love.

It didn’t take long for Remy Ma to fire back in her new diss track, shETHER.  Some may recognize the beat from the notorious Nas diss towards Jay Z, Ether.  In comparison, Remy Ma destroyed Nicki Minaj, but we all know how the Pink Barbie responds to people coming for her…she will come back with a reply that will more than likely rock heads and hurt feelings!  Let’s see how these two ladies battle it out!  Have a listen to shETHER and let us know what you think!
