Where Are They Now? Interview Updates!

I take the time to bring my readers exclusive interviews and stories about current celebrities, as well as, up-and-coming artists, designers, actors, etc.  Well, my posts are 100% authentic and they are based around REAL people who are chasing their dreams down and shaping their own success!  As an update, I want to let everyone know what a couple of my interviewees are up to because they are really taking off and seeing a lot of success, locally and nationwide.  Check it out:

Almost a year ago I featured the fresh and new, Cultures Clothing, fashion line on my site.  Back then, they were trying to get start-up money and taking all donations.  Today, they are spreading their reach and selling their clothes like hot cakes.  Recently, actor Mark Wahlberg gifted his right-hand man, Bo Cleary, with the Cultures Clothing “I Love Hip-Hop” tee-shirt.  Guess what?!  It was worn for Wahlberg’s red carpet premier of  “Broken City” in Miami, FL.  Take a look!

Remember him?  He’s the youth motivational speaker who hails from the Bronx, NY and was able to single handedly build his own empire.  He tours the U.S. sharing his inspiration with everyone he comes into contact with and has become very successful at what he does.  Recently, Jim has collaborated with Masters Channel, which is a UK based website channel delivering inspiring content from experts in the US, India, Australia, Brazil China and more. He will begin his web series videos, “The Chronicles of Jim Hernandez”, so be on the lookout for this rising start!

It pays to dream big, but more importantly it pays to go after what you want and work HARD to get it!  Let’s go people, make some changes and who knows…maybe YOU will be the next rising star that I feature on my site!

How Successful is DaniTheDreamgirl?!

I have big dreams, but I realize that I need to start small and work my way up!  I’ve been a blogger for over a year now and I touched on everything I had accomplished back in August, for my 1 year anniversary. Going into 2013 is bittersweet because I haven’t accomplished everything that I wanted to, but as I look back on 2012 I have accomplished SO MUCH.  So, what has changed since my anniversary post back in August?

I’ve conducted 7 more celebrity interviews (including Jay-Z’s nephew, Mel Carter and How to Be a Player star, Mari Morrow).

-I became an official blogger for Yahoo Voices!

-My site traffic has DOUBLED!

-I now have a mentor who is a successful blogger in the D.C. area!

-This is probably the BIGGEST announcement of all…I have made the decision to phase out my WordPress.com blog site and build a brand new site that I have 100% control over.  This will take some time, but in 2013 it will officially happen (fingers crossed).

It’s been a busy year for me, but I’m so blessed to have as much success as I do.  I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I have built a very strong foundation and am looking forward to the new year!  I pray that everyone who is dreaming BIG is seeing success!  For those who are still stuck and don’t know what they want to do in life…that’s OK.  Keep pushing and trying new things and begin to turn even the smallest of dreams into a reality!  Thanks for the support and the love this year; it means the world to me!  2013, here I come!

30 Thursdays!

As some of you may know, I am at a turning point in my life.  I am knocking on the door to the other side of adulthood…yes, I’m turning 30!  UGH!  Some people welcome this idea, some people totally freak out (that’s me) and some don’t even think about it (totally wish this was me).  Every person has their own way of coping with the idea that they will no longer be in their 20’s (OMG I just got nervous).  So, what does this mean for me?  It means that as much as I am freaking out, I can’t stop time.  I can’t avoid turning 30 no matter how hard I close my eyes and make a wish (believe me, I’ve tried).  Having this in the forefront of my brain, I have no other choice than to go out of my 20’s with a bang!  I’ve done the necessary cleaning up in my life…you know, the getting closure on certain situations, saying good-bye to those that no longer deserve a space in my circle, moving on from hurt or just toxic surroundings and above all, nurturing the friendships and relationships with family that I am so grateful for.  I want to enter into this new phase free of the BULLSHIT (yes, I cussed).  That way I can enjoy my celebration!  Stay tuned for my mini journey details (party planning, getting the perfect dress, my freak out moments, etc.).  Thanks for taking this ride with me and feel free to offer words of encouragement and boxes of tissues!
