I’m at a pivotal place in my life right now. How do I know? I can feel it. Everything that I had known to be a custom, a habit and a trademark is beginning to take on a new form. The people around me are changing, friendships are becoming more dynamic and honest, daily habits have become boring. I’ve been here before, remember? I explained everything to you guys in my post, “One Day I Woke Up & Was Bored With Life!” and I expressed how I felt like I needed to make a change. Well, here I am again. Learning that life is unpredictable. We can plan, but no matter what, there is always a higher power that has the last say. I haven’t been taking this sudden change too well, to say the least. I could feel the stress in my shoulders and I literally had knots up and down my back. Abruptly, the things that I had known and built a routine around, suddenly altered and I wasn’t sure what to do. Even as I write this, I’m still uncertain of what my next steps will be, but I am in a position to not just dream…I have the chance to start living.

As Kenya would say, “I’m gone with the wind faaaaabulous!” I was invited to be one of the curvy models for Curvy Doll Boutique in Baltimore, MD and it was such an exciting opportunity to take on. One of my goals has always been to work towards my portfolio because, let’s face it, you never know who’s watching and I always want to be prepared. Almost a year ago I featured the fresh and new, Cultures Clothing, fashion line on my site. Back then, they were trying to get start-up money and taking all donations. Today, they are spreading their reach and selling their clothes like hot cakes. Recently, actor Mark Wahlberg gifted his right-hand man, Bo Cleary, with the Cultures Clothing “I Love Hip-Hop” tee-shirt. Guess what?! It was worn for Wahlberg’s red carpet premier of “Broken City” in Miami, FL. Take a look!

He tours the U.S. sharing his inspiration with everyone he comes into contact with and has become very successful at what he does. Recently, Jim has collaborated with Masters Channel, which is a UK based website channel delivering inspiring content from experts in the US, India, Australia, Brazil China and more. Is it a Dream or is it Jockin’? – B.B.M.
Well helloooooooooo, world! No, I haven’t totally gotten rid of my Become a Blogger Mondays series, but you all know that I won’t write if I’m not feeling it. With that said, we can all assume that there must be SOMEthing that I’m feeling! I’ve sat back and watched and observed and pondered and…OK you get the point! I’ve just been taking note of all the brains going a million miles a minute. I’ve paid attention to those around me who are pursuing their dreams and it’s so great to see the creative wheels turning…it’s a source of inspiration for everyone when this happens.
However, I think for some it’s just a fad. Like, do you get the impression that everyone has a blog? Or a clothing line? Or they make jewelry? Or they rap? Or they sing? That kind of annoys me. It makes me wonder, are you doing this for you? Or are you doing this just because you want to be like everybody else? Or because you THINK this is how you can get rich? If it’s coming from the heart and it’s something that you genuinely love to do or you take seriously, I 100% support it, but if I get the feeling that you’re just doing it “just because” then I may give you that “look”. Follow your dreams and passions, but make them your own…add your own spin to it…be original and even when it gets hard, KEEP going…that’s how I can tell if you’re really about business or just herding with the masses.
Let others inspire you, but don’t become them! BE YOU!
