It’s official!  Janet Jackson has finally confirmed that she and her super duper rich hubby, Wissam Al Mana, wed last year.  She reminds all of us that are on the grind, living out our dreams and fighting our way to the top, that you CAN have it all.  You can have the fame and the fairytale.  Congratulations to the beautiful couple and it’s nice to see something positive in the media about the Jackson family for once.

The two provided a statement to ET News stating, “The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true.  Last year we were married in a quiet, private and beautiful ceremony…We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy.”

Uncle Luke Sets Lil’ Wayne Straight and Stands Up for Miami!

As you all know, Lil’ Wayne has been in headlines (ugh) for allegedly being banned from attending Miami Heat games since he was escorted out of the arena during the Lakers/Heat game.  Well, he wasn’t shy about expressing his disdain and a video leaked of him ripping into the entire Miami Heat franchise, Lebron, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade and the ENTIRE city (video below)!  Of course, you can’t get away with that kind of spectacle when legends like Uncle Luke are alive and kicking.  Yesterday, Uncle Luke released an article in the Miami New Times.  Check out some excerpts from the article where he sets the record straight on what should happen to Weezy (peep the title):

It’s Time Miami Stops Being Lil Wayne’s Bitch

Miamians are mad as hell at rapper Lil Wayne because he said fuck the Heat, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh on Sunday at a nightclub party in Houston. Lil Wayne even claimed he had sex with Bosh’s wife. That was way out of line. However, don’t blame Weezy for talking trash.

He has no respect for the city because people in Miami’s entertainment industry — from local radio DJs to South Beach nightclub promoters to the Heat’s front office — spread their legs for him and every out-of-town celebrity who rolls through town.

Lil Wayne treats Miami like his bitch because people let him.

When Weezy claimed he was thrown out of the Heat home game versus the Lakers, the franchise tried to downplay the incident, saying they only asked him to leave and he left on his own. That was a bitch move.

Stars can call up the Heat and get a free front-row seat or have nightclubs give them free tables and bottles of liquor whenever they want. Lil Wayne gets away with it because venue promoters are desperate to get mentioned in the gossip blogs and magazines. Local record label owners and radio station programming directors are also guilty of brown-nosing these interlopers.

Hell, I want to know what Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and all these so-called 305 rappers who hang with Lil Wayne have to say about him disrespecting our home team. They need to set Lil Wayne straight. When you disrespect Miami, you can’t be allowed into any arena, restaurant, club, or even McDonald’s to get a burger. And you better not show your face in the hood.

I’m gonna have to come out of retirement because Miami’s entertainment industry has gone soft. I’ve got no problem telling Lil Wayne where he can go.

BIG Shout Out to Sebastian McCall for Being Featured on Philly.com!

I keep trying to tell everyone that my cousin has the best boutique(s) in Philly!  He is known as the “jean guru” and I love every purchase that I have made.  He’s been featured many times for being the “Best in Philly” and here is the latest article from Philly.com.  Check out the article below by Michael Hinkelman and if you are in the Philly area, be sure to stop and shop at “Charlie’s Jeans”:

SEBASTIAN McCALL, 39, of Northern Liberties, owns Charlie’s Jeans, on Market Street near 2nd in Old City. He also has a smaller store on Chestnut Street near 17th in Center City. In May 2010, McCall launched his own designer denim brand, which retails for $165 and up, and comes in a variety of cuts, sizes and colors.

Q: Tell me about your shop and your own denim brand.

A: We opened in Northern Liberties 15 years ago and moved to Old City. Denim is the best place to be, because you interact more with the customer. It’s a different challenge to make jeans fit properly. I wanted my own jean. I didn’t know where to begin, but I really knew the fit. One of my vendors allowed us to do a fit, and after that I got the bug.

Q: Tell me about that.A: We went to California, set up shop there and started manufacturing our own jeans.Q: Why California?

A: Every brand we carry is made there. If your seamstress is sick, you can find another. Our denim manufacturer is in North Carolina. We brought them in, sampled 100 fabrics, model after model. I wanted jeans that would satisfy all our customers.

Q: Who are your customers?

A: They’re probably 80 percent women, ages 22 to 55. They’re professionals, judges, lawyers, doctors, people in the pharmaceutical industry. Our customer comes from all over – New York, California, D.C. and Boston

Q: Why is your brand special?

A: We go from size 00 to 18. I wanted a brand that women could easily fit into. So if she says, “I want to feel sexy, slim, I want my jeans to fit perfectly and I want made-in-the-USA quality,” we have that.

Q: I hear you’re called the Jeans Whisperer.

A: I guess it comes with making shopping easy. I grew up in a hair salon and my mother always said, “It’s not how she looks when she walks in the door, watch the smile on her face as she leaves.”

Q: So how many pairs of your brand have you sold?

A: We’ve sold 16,000 pairs of Sebastian McCall jeans, and that doesn’t include 2013. That’s over $2 million in sales since I launched. About 75 percent of my jean sales are my own brand.

Female Group, TLC, Biopic Cast is Set!

We’ve jammed to their hits, we’ve mimicked their styles and in some way, shape, or form became fans of the power house, all-female group, TLC.  It’s no secret that their story was a roller-coaster ride with their financial troubles being public knowledge and with the untimely death of group member, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.  The remaining members, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, have agreed to a biopic which will feature an interesting cast!

Chilli, Left Eye and T-Boz will be played by Keke Palmer, Lil’ Mama, and Drew Sidora (respectively).  Some heat is already being thrown towards Keke Palmer for not “looking like” Chilli, but she’s firing back at her critics.  Here’s what she had to say on Twitter, in response to the flack she’s been getting:

I’m sure the biopic will be a success and I look forward to seeing it!  Plus, Ms. Palmer is correct, I’d rather see a movie with good actresses, as opposed to actresses that simply look like who they are portraying.
